A Charter For Cruelty

There is a strain of feminism that grants almost unconditional approval to ruthless women who claw their way to the top, stepping on their rivals’ upturned faces, while at the same time reprobating men who succeed by the same methods. In the former case it is called “strength”, in the latter case “phallocracy”. The bottom line is, “It’s not wrong when WE do it.”

Fictional role models for females, the various action heroines and so forth, are simply the traditional male psychopaths with added cleavages, and no one ever defines the “strong” woman so as adequately to exclude “mean” and “brutal”. Consequently, every vicious and cruel adult woman may, if she wishes, glow with self-satisfaction and, when reproached, reply “You just can’t accept a strong woman, can you?”.
