Service Therapy

When a woman shops, her aim is not so much to acquire an object as to indulge her curiosity, investigate new products, demonstrate her wealth and status, calibrate her value, feel herself attractive, comfort herself in adversity and combat depression. The main difference is probably that men are less obsessive, and waste far less money; above all, Service Therapy does not clutter up closets with shoes and clothes destined to be worn only once or not at all.
