Not Such A Fairy-Tale

If people admire “love” as much as they pretend, why then was Camilla Parker-Bowles so reviled? We now know that she was the woman Prince Charles really wanted all his life, but was initially prevented from espousing by the British Constitution. They continued to love one another and repaired the error in late middle age, rather like the elderly lovers in Love in the Time of Cholera. That ought to have been a story more romantic than a grown man being paired with a teenager because she was the only blueblood virgin to be found in the realm; but all the Great British Public appeared to care about was that the mature love was not as pretty as Diana.
